I have long been intrigued by the concept of twin towns (or sister cities as I understand they are known in the US). Not intrigued to the point that I have given it much thought, but mildly interested.

is is a definite plus. This morning I listened to the news and the ‘light’ article at the end concerned a website which has just released its poll results for worst commercials. The overall winner was Aflac.

As the character Vincent Vega once said, “It’s the little things” and that is certainly true of some of the tours we do. I have just completed a London, Paris and Rome tour where every day is another barrage of huge, world-famous sites, constant movement and hustle.

A recent trip to Barcelona to watch some soccer (don’t ask, it went badly) gave me the chance to catch up with Spanish TD Rafi Martinez. Rafi hails from Barcelona and has been leading tours in her native country and beyond for eight years.

On April 26th 1937, a massive air raid by the German Luftwaffe on the Basque town of Guernica in Northern Spain shocked the world. Hundreds of civilians were killed in the raid which became a major incident of the Spanish Civil War.

Riding the London Underground is a hectic business most of the time. Like all major cities, locals are in a rush, seconds count and everyone else is considered an obstacle to otherwise seamless travel.
